About the park
Moscow 850th Anniversary Park stretches along the left bank of the Moscow River, a narrow strip with water on one side and city streets on the other. The road corridor includes Bataysky Proyezd and Porechnaya Street on either side of Brateevsky Bridge. The available description gives little detail about the vegetation; the riverbank is the park’s clearest natural feature.

The park opened in 1997, as Moscow marked its 850th anniversary, and a memorial stone was installed here on opening day. In 2012, a cycle path was laid through the park, linking the Maryino and Kapotnya districts. During the 2017–2018 refurbishment, about five kilometres of the left bank were upgraded, including a training base for the Federation of Rowing Sport and a roller-ski course. The result is a long public space beside the river, connecting neighbouring districts.
Birds recorded nearby include hooded crow, rock pigeon, mallard, great tit and Eurasian tree sparrow.
