About the park

Park Krasnodar covers 66 hectares north-east of the city centre. More than 2,500 planted trees form its green framework, including oaks, hornbeams, alders and pines. Paths pass among the plantings, a flower garden with a terrace, and water features: a circular pond holds ornamental fish, while flat, ground-level fountains add further stretches of water. The landscape is shaped chiefly by deliberate planting, with trees, flowers and water closely interwoven.

Before the park was built, the site held agricultural fields and a flower market with a trolleybus turning loop. Construction began in autumn 2016, and the first phase opened on 28 September 2017. The park then expanded onto land with other former urban uses: a four-hectare section opened on the flower-market site in March 2019, followed in December by an area that had been training fields for the FC Krasnodar academy. The Japanese garden opened on 30 March 2023. It covers 7.5 hectares, has 3,591 metres of walking paths and is built in a traditional Japanese architectural style.

Birds recorded nearby include the Eurasian blackbird, common wood-pigeon, house sparrow, Eurasian collared-dove and Eurasian blue tit.
