About the park
The North Coast of the Neva Bay has about three kilometres of shoreline along the Gulf of Finland, with broad views towards Vasilievsky Island, Kronstadt and the opposite shore. Primorskoe Highway bounds the protected area to the north, while shoreline and mixed coastal woodland lie side by side within it. The nearby Verperluda Island is also part of the reserve.

In 1769, east of the present-day reserve, Grom-kamen, quarried from Petrovsky Pond, was put afloat. The event tied this stretch of the Neva Bay shore to the stone’s journey from the place where it was extracted to a water route. Since 2015, Petrovsky Pond has also been among Saint Petersburg’s protected natural areas.
Among birds recorded nearby are mallards, great tits and Eurasian blue tits.
