About the park
Golubye Ozyora Nature Sanctuary lies on the right bank of the Kazanka near Shcherbakovo. It combines woodland with karst lakes fed by powerful springs. Broadleaved woodland and stands of birch and other small-leaved trees occur alongside small areas of pine forest.

The lakes contain cold, clear, highly mineralised water. Tatarstan’s biological resources authority reports surface temperatures of 6–8 °C even in the warmer months. Spring water keeps their temperature almost constant throughout the year.
