About the park
Russko-Nemetskaya Shveytsariya brings together a broad stretch of the Kazanka, with islands subject to flooding, green expanses on its left bank, and the hilly ground known as Skotskie Hills. Its tree flora includes pedunculate oak, small-leaved lime, smooth and rough elm, black, white and Berlin poplar, two kinds of maple, and willow.

In 1989, the area was designated a regional natural monument covering 30 hectares; by 2021, the protected area had expanded to 322.8 hectares. It is home to Tatarstan’s only population of shadow figwort, a plant listed in the republic’s Red Book.
Birds recorded nearby include the great tit, Eurasian blue tit and Eurasian tree sparrow.
