About the park

Founded on 11 April 1958, the reserve was established to preserve wetlands in their pristine state, protect places where marsh and waterfowl game birds gather in large numbers, and safeguard their migration routes. It lies in the Barabinsky and Chanovsky districts of Novosibirsk Oblast.
Large numbers of waterside and waterfowl birds nest here, including grey partridge, willow ptarmigan, black grouse, bean goose, greater white-fronted goose and greylag goose. Rare birds of the reserve include osprey, white-tailed eagle, pied avocet, Pallas’s gull and white-headed duck.
