About the park
Lake Yastrebinoye Natural Monument lies near Kuznechnoye, on the border between Leningrad Oblast and Karelia. The lake stretches between rocky ridges of ancient bedrock shaped by glaciers. A cliff on its eastern shore rises 36 metres above the water.

Mixed woodland grows on the moister slopes, and the protected area also includes Pestovo and Khukhtilampi lakes. The authority lists tits, leaf warblers, thrushes and chaffinches among breeding birds. Ducks and gulls stop on the lakes during migration.
