About the park
Krylatskiye Kholmy lies on the right bank of the Moskva River, on the slopes of one of the spurs of the Teplostan Upland. Its terrain includes several hills, some artificial, and three ravines. More than 360 species of vascular plants grow here, along with 17 species of lichens; some of the herbs are listed in the Moscow Red Book.

The name Krylatskiye Kholmy refers both to the former village of Krylatskoye, incorporated into Moscow, and to the area's hilly terrain. A circular cycling track was built for the 1980 Olympics, and ski runs operate here in winter. In the centre of the park is the Rudnenskaya Bozhya Mat spring, revered as miraculous. Nearby stands the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Krylatskoye, a federal monument of 19th-century architecture.
Birds recorded nearby include the great tit, hooded crow, mallard, fieldfare and Eurasian blue tit.
