About the park
The bay on North Tushino’s shore is the remnant of a large ravine, once crossed by Zakharkovsky Stream, which began near Planernaya station. Until 1937, the Khimka River ran along this shore; today the park borders the Moscow Canal and Khimki Reservoir. Sandy and grassy beaches line the water. In the 1950s, a collective-farm apple and pear orchard was planted on the park site, so its landscape reflects both the former riverbank and agricultural plantings.

The history of settlement here reaches back much further than the park. A Neolithic site dates from the 3rd–2nd millennia BCE, and an early Iron Age settlement from the 1st–3rd centuries; its upper layers belong to a Slavic settlement of the late 1st millennium. From the 17th to the 20th century, the land lay between the villages of Alyoshkino and Zakharkovo. Together, these finds mark successive stages of settlement at this waterside site.
Birds recorded nearby include the great tit, Eurasian blue tit, fieldfare, hooded crow and rock pigeon.
