The gorge’s cliffs expose Devonian limestone formed from ancient marine reefs. The protected areas authority lists 46 caves in the park. Staromuradymovskaya preserves ochre drawings, while Golubiny Grotto contains evidence of a Palaeolithic human camp. Novomuradymovskaya is known for its calcite formations. Check cave access and guided-tour arrangements with the park administration.
